Over a period of two months, Robert Quinn and Ben Wetz toured Spain to promote their new course books and share some thoughts they have about teaching with us. We were all very excited to discover their new projects, and everyone hugely enjoyed these practical and fun talks.

Getting Wise to Words – Robert Quinn
In this session, we discussed the importance of vocabulary breadth and depth in language learning, and looked at some practical classroom techniques for helping students to become more word-wise.

Our OUP expert demonstrated the innovative digital materials that accompany the new course books, guiding teachers through the possible uses of an interactive whiteboard and other new technologies.

Our experts
Robert Quinn is a freelance materials writer, teacher and teacher-trainer. His most recent publications include levels 1 and 2 of Switch, a new Secondary course from OUP, and several non-fiction titles for the new Oxford Read and Discover series of graded readers.
Ben Wetz started teaching English in 1986, and since 1998 he has been a freelance author and teacher trainer. Working with OUP he has written several successful series of course books for teenagers. Ben’s most recent work includes OUP’s new title for Secondary, English Plus.
